The purpose of the Clinical Trial Coordinator position is to facilitate the implementation of a pilot general practice-led intervention to increase National Bowel Cancer Screening Program (NBCSP) participation, conducted within general practices in predetermined locations. This position is part of the MAIL, GP & SCALE project and will work closely with the project team, led by the Daffodil Centre's Gastrointestinal Cancers Policy and Evaluation Stream Lead to ensure the smooth functioning of the pilot trial.
This role will be based in Adelaide. We are looking to source a preferred candidate based in Adelaide for this role.
The Daffodil Centre are seeking an experienced Clinical Trials Coordinator to work with 25 practices across Adelaide and includes undertaking participant recruitment, data collection, field work and implementation of strategies to support the use of the intervention.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Support and facilitate Clinical Trial activities, which include: complying with ethical requirements, preparing trial procedures, reporting on trial milestones, supporting General Practices on-site monitoring, archiving documents and correspondence
- in collaboration with other team trial members, conduct participant interviews with general practitioners in accordance with the protocol and delegated responsibilities
- assist with the research requirements of the Clinical Trial, including collecting data from primary data sources and transferring it from health practice systems to University systems
- conduct scientific research and ensure data is reported back to the team consistently
- maintain appropriate source documentation and manage trial data whilst assisting the Project Manager to setup and conduct data integrity checks.
- develop and maintain effective working relationships with collaborators, research team members and general practices
About you
- tertiary qualification in health or a relevant field, with previous experience in a primary care setting
- current and unrestricted driver's license
- have an understanding of Clinical Trials protocols, ICH-GCP guidelines, ethics and governance and other relevant Clinical Trial regulatory procedures
- high computer literacy with experience in data entry and data management, preferably using REDCap
- familiarity with the function of Primary Health Networks (PHNs) and their work with General Practices is desirable
- ability to transform and translate data into useful information between internal and external systems and software
- ability to work with internal and external stakeholders in a sensitive manner including general practitioners, team members, clinical staff, whilst maintaining confidentiality of data
- ability to exercise a degree of initiative and judgement in planning work activity, and resolving problems associated with day-to-day operating procedures directly linked to their key accountabilities
- ability to travel around Adelaide to General Practices as needed.
