About the role
Based at Royal Park Campus Parkville the role is to attract, develop and retain the OT workforce in our Mental Health service. You will work with Clinical Educators from other disciplines to ensure consistency, high standards and innovation. The role will require relationship building with OT academic programs and to be aware of discipline specific trends, Health department reform and OT Mental Health specialist roles.
You will work with the organisation’s strategic direction and address OT workforce learning and development needs across a variety of sites and programs.
The OT Clinical Educator – whole of workforce will:
- Identify the learning and development needs of Occupational Therapists across Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Services.
- Ensure RMH MHS OT’s are competent for the key elements of their practice
- Develop, coordinate and evaluate education and training programs for Occupational Therapy in key areas such as supervision.
- Work closely with OT and SW graduate coordinator
- Collaborate with the research and translation lead ( RMH MHS)
- Work closely with RMH MHS OT leadership
- Champion OT practice within the spirit of the Victorian Mental health and Wellbeing Act (2022)
- Maintain current registration as required by your professional organisation or other applicable Acts.
About you:
- 10 years’ post-graduation experience in clinical mental health
- Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering learning and development programs in either Occupational Therapy or Mental Health settings
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role
- Demonstrated experience working with large and diverse groups of stakeholders
- Comply with all legal requirements pertaining to the position including responsibility for maintaining current registration as required by your professional organisation or other applicable Acts.
- Experience in identifying professional development needs of health professionals
- Demonstrated skills and experience in clinical supervision; conducting training sessions and facilitating groups in a multidisciplinary context
- Able to work autonomously and contribute effectively to a multidisciplinary team.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexibly in a complex large organisation and manage time effectively
- Understanding of and ability to contribute to positive workforce culture, staff wellbeing, and leadership initiatives.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft programs, cloud and App computing, spreadsheets, word processing, presentation and database software and with audio-visual technology
- Be licenced and willing to drive in Victoria.
