This unique opportunity is for a Registered Nurse/Midwife with a commitment to clinical coaching and a keen interest in education and professional development, to fill a Clinical Facilitator position across Inpatient and Gynae Services within the Mater Education Team.We are seeking motivated midwives with consolidated and recent clinical experience who are interested in providing support and educational opportunities to novice and experienced staff within the Inpatient areas of antenatal and postnatal care in both the public and private setting.This position is a maximum term contract, part time working 56 hours per fortnight, available from the 8th of April to the 27th of October 2024.As the successful candidate, you will support the Education Coordinator in the delivery of education strategies included in Mater Educations Strategic and Operational Plans.Additionally, you will promote and implement best practice/evidence-based practice; promote critical thinking and clinical problem solving; and consistency in care delivery within a practice development and robust education model. To enable this, the position is supported by staff within the broader Practice Development and Mater Education Teams.Salary range: $52.63 - $56.38 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900What you'll be doing
As Clinical Facilitator within education you will be primarily responsible for supporting the professional development of the interprofessional team and have a commitment to education and to delivering safe, quality, evidence-based patient care. This role entails wide and diverse coordination, provision and monitoring of unit-based and organisational objectives to mandatory and role-requisite education, as well as National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards initiatives, the revision and implementation of new policies and models of care, clinical facilitation and the identification, implementation, and evaluation of best practice models.About you
To be successful in the role, you will possess:
- Current and unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife preferred
- Minimum 3 years recent clinical experience working as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife in antenatal and postnatal inpatient services
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or willingness to work towards achieving
- Post graduate qualifications in specialty and/or education
- Demonstrated experience in clinical facilitation and preceptorship
- High Level communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Strong focus on professional self-development and that of others
