We’re looking for a warm and empathetic Speechie to join us in the role “Clinical Intake Officer.” In this role, you will chat with prospective clients about Pop Speech Pathology services and how we can support clients to achieve their goals. You will discuss a mix of clinical and administrative topics to ensure the client is prepared for their initial consultation with our fabulous speechies! 

This position is ideally suited for a Speech Pathologist who is not only seeking a flexible and supportive role but is also adapt at connecting with clients with prior knowledge of the sector. 

Whether you are more seasoned in the field or a confident junior with versed clinical experience, your ability to engage compassionately with clients and their families will be crucial.

This role offers the opportunity to work remotely with excellent support functions for a Fully Remote company and workforce. 

About The Role

  • You will conduct 15 minute phone consultations with prospective clients of Pop.
  • Following the phone call, you will send correspondence to the client and then they will be supported through the remainder of the intake process by our amazing support crew.
  • Phone call and email templates are provided along with ready-made resources and links for sending to clients as applicable.
  • You will have access to admin and speechie support almost instantly via Slack.
  • The hours for this role are flexible, dependent on the candidate and business needs. 
  • We will provide you with competency training prior to completing FC’s solo. 
  • Ongoing support in the information systems and knowledge that you need will be provided by both Intake Managers and Admin Support.

This intake call and role is critical at Pop:

  1. For our clients: as we need to ensure the prospective client understands what their journey will look like and how we can solve their problems.  
  2. For our clinic: as we obtain information that supports our therapists to match clients with their skillset.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you!  

Non-negotiables 

  • You’re a Speech Pathologist with general knowledge across paediatrics and adults (although the vast majority of our cases are paediatrics so having adult knowledge isn’t critical). 
  • You’re an exceptional communicator who can quickly ascertain the client's perspective and requests and ensure they are given bespoke advice.
  • You have your own laptop, wifi-connection and an ergonomic work from home set up.
  • You love to connect with families and clients and will feel comfortable chatting with families about speech pathology. 
  • You feel comfortable talking about practical things like billing, NDIS plans, CDMP and rebate information.
  • You’re happy to work in a team and learn new processes and systems
  • You want flexibility to work short shifts at varied times of the day.
  • You’re tech-savvy & feel confident learning new systems and processes.
  • You’re a problem-solver, always providing potential solutions when issues arise.
  • You have outstanding time management, task prioritisation and attention to detail skills.
