About the role
As the Clinical Midwife Educator (CME), you will play a key role in the support and clinical development/ training of staff while fostering a preceptor/mentor role. The CME formulates, coordinates, and evaluates unit based educational programs; assessment and demonstration of clinical procedures.
The aim of the position is to use a participation methodology to build:
- The capacity of individuals to deliver safe, evidenced based care, incorporating reflective practice with the aim of continual improvement.
- A woman and family focused culture that supports the MUM and staff to deliver innovative models of care and proactively manage change.
The position contributes to the overall improvement of health service delivery.
The Clinical Midwife Educator is responsible for over 100 skilled Midwives spanning across Midwifery Group Practice (MGP), Birth Centre, Delivery Ward and Theatre Midwives.
This role is Monday to Friday.
We are looking for someone who…
- Has current registration as a Midwife with AHPRA and proven experience in clinical education or staff development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate others.
- Can demonstrate the ability to plan, conduct and evaluate educational programs.
