Job description

This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time and Fixed Term Part Time appointments. Fixed Term appointments will be made with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/08/2025.

About this role

This position, under the direction of the relevant Senior Registered Nurse(s), practises as a Clinical Nurse in keeping with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board Registration Standards and Nursing Practice Decision Making Flowchart; Provides advanced, comprehensive and evidence-based nursing care to patients as part of a multidisciplinary team; Upholds and functions within the core values of the organisation of Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork & Integrity; Acts as a role model, providing leadership, support, team building and change management through respect, recognition and collaboration.

The State Forensic Mental Health Service in Western Australia provides a range of evidenced based interventions and treatments to clients with complex and challenging behaviours, risks and presentations. The multidisciplinary service works in partnership with The Department of Justice, Department of Attorney General and other health providers. People receiving forensic mental health care are typically in the criminal justice system.

This role reports to the Nurse Manager- Mental Health.

NMHS contains Western Australia’s largest Mental Health Service caring for youths, adults and older adults.
