The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a free community-based tertiary mental health service provided through the WCHN across South Australia, providing care to those with severe and/or complex mental health needs. CAMHS provides services to: infants / children / young people up to 18 (16 in some areas) for community, state-wide and hospital-based services for perinatal women.
The Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified and registered RN2 Mental Health Nurse to join CAMHS Northern Community (Elizabeth) in a fulltime, ongoing capacity.
As a Mental Health Clinical Nurse you will assess, educate, counsel and co-ordinate group work. These are considered essential components of care which is directed towards the attainment of optimum consumer health and recovery. This involves consultation and liaison with other professional disciplines and nongovernmental organisations.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a Registered Nurse who holds a current practicing certificate (with at least 3 years full time post registration experience) and who has completed or is enrolled in a approved Mental Health Course.
You will use your well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work with individuals and families for positive mental health outcomes and to foster productive working relationships across disciplines and your ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision.
If you have experience in conducting mental health assessment and therapeutic interventions of a complex nature with children, adolescents with emotional and behavioural difficulties, and the development of appropriate mental health care plans, in collaboration with colleagues, consumers and families, then this role is for you.
