About the Role:
4 month maternity leave cover commencing mid-May 2024. 76 hours per fortnight.
Are you an experienced and dynamic Registered Nurse seeking a fulfilling career move? Forest Lake Lodge presents an exciting opportunity for you to join our committed team. The typical work hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, with participation in an on-call schedule shared among a dedicated team of six.
Under the guidance of the Clinical Operations Manager overseeing the clinical team, you will play a vital role in providing best-practice care for 59 residents. This responsibility includes care planning, supervising and supporting your team of RNs, and PCWs, and being the main point of contact for family inquiries. Your role extends to training, mentoring, and supporting staff and student placements, contributing to the quality assurance and risk management programs, and maintaining compliance with Quality Standards and legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide best practice care for residents.
- Oversee care planning and ensure a continuum of care.
- Staffing levels have been aligned to 100% of RN and Care minutes as per AN-ACC funding.
- Provide training, mentoring, and support to staff and student placements.
- Act as the main point of contact for family inquiries.
- Contribute to quality assurance and risk management programs.
- Maintain excellent records and systems for compliance.
- Abide by the Code of Conduct and stay up to date with training.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Registered Nursing Degree with unrestricted AHPRA registration.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in residential aged care.
- Comprehensive understanding of aged care Quality Standards.
- Competence in clinical governance and AN-ACC.
- Experience with difficult behaviour and skills in wound management, medication administration, continence, and/or palliative care.
- Proficiency in clinical management systems (ideally Person Centred Software) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
- Stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a highly regulated and complex environment.

- Energetic, dynamic, with effective time management skills.
- Understanding of reporting requirements within a service delivery framework.
- Supervisory experience in an aged care environment.
