About your opportunity:
Fixed term temporary part-time, 48 hours per fortnight, up to 12 months - commencing 17/06/2024 Location: North Ward Health Campus and Townsville University Hospital.
The renal unit provides acute and chronic renal replacement therapy in a variety of settings, including incentre, satellite and home-based haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, to patients with renal failure. The renal unit staff provide regular education and outreach services to community groups, staff, patients, families, and carers involved in caring for people with renal failure within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.
The Transplant Coordinator is responsible for the case management of renal clients on the transplant list. A temporary part time opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse who is experienced in the care and management of pre-transplant patient care. The transplant co-ordinator will be responsible for the coordination of pre-transplant education, planning and workup, managing referrals, data entry, supporting renal patients, families, and carers throughout the process. The successful applicant will assume individual accountability for actions within the position.
Generous remuneration package value up to $6,962 p.m. comprising:
- Salary range of $54.44 to $58.30 p.h. (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1)

Requirements:
- Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- Highly desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
- Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
- Probation period may apply.
