An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse Educator to join the Theatre team at a private hospital in Western Sydney. It is a permanent full-time position. You will play a key role within a supportive team in ensuring high levels of patient care are provided.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a CNE, your responsibilities will be to:
- Identifying educational needs by partnering with Nursing Leaders (i.e., DON, NUM, CNS) and Clinical Support Functions (i.e., Quality, Infection Control);
- Leading and fostering a learning environment;
- Maintaining a professional and constructive working relationship.
- Current nursing registration with AHPRA;
- Authority to Work in Australia;
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent;
- Certificate IV Workplace Assessment & Training (TAE);
- Working with Children check (if relevant);
- Thorough knowledge of ACORN standards and current legislation (perioperative specific);
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
- Demonstrated experience in eLearning platforms;
- Knowledge of adult learning practices and contemporary education practices;
- A high degree of computer literacy, including MS Office;
- Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high-functioning team;
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, proactive, motivated, and customer-focused.

The hospital, located in Western Sydney, is a modern 109-bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community, including orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology and general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography, obstetrics. The hospital has eight operating Theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheterisation theatre, and an endoscopy suite, supported by a critical care unit that includes intensive care.
