Working in prison primary health care delivery provides nurses the opportunity to work with diverse patient groups using varied skills sets. Every day is different. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for providing clinical leadership, critical thinking and direct care to patients throughout the patient journey in a custodial setting.
The Hepatitis CClinical Nurse plays an integral role in the management and care of people with, and affected by, hepatitis C. They provide education about: the disease and its prevention; lifestyle and psychosocial factors; testing and diagnosis; referral for treatment, support during treatment; resources and referral to support services.

ABOUT JUSTICEWorking with the Health Services team at the Department of Justice, you will provide high quality, patient-centered trauma informed nursing care. This includes comprehensive nursing assessment, identifying health issues, care planning to implement nursing interventions and evaluation of care provision to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Eligibility
- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and experience in the delivery of evidence based nursing care relevant to primary care practice setting.
- Eligible for registration in the category of Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, hold Australian permanent residency or have a valid working visa for Australia.
- A current Working with Children Check or be able to successfully apply for one to be eligible for appointment to this position.
