Position Profile: The primary responsibility of the Clinical Nurse Specialist - Oncology Haematology is to work in partnership across all areas of the health service to improve the quality and continuity of care and support provided to clients receiving systemic treatment for cancer and other non-malignant conditions across the continuum of care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Act as on Oncology Haematology resource person for staff and patients and their significant others throughout the region.
  • Provides clinical Oncology Haematology nursing knowledge and care coordination across the organisation.
  • Demonstrates leadership and role modelling.
  • Promotes maintenance of clinical standard setting and monitoring, policy development and change management as required to improve the patient’s management.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated advanced clinical and professional knowledge and experience relevant to the area of Oncology Haematology.
  • Extensive knowledge and application of safety and quality improvement and research principles.
  • Demonstrated advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership consistent with organisational values.

Similar Vacancy: Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service.
