We are seeking a Level 2 Lactation Consultant on a part time basis, 18 hours a week to support out patients on our Maternity Ward.

Established in 2016 Gold Coast Private Hospital is a 339 bed, 22 operating theatre facility located in Southport, the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct. Specialities include and are not limited to: 24/7 Emergency Care Centre, Medical, Orthopaedic, Bariatric, Neurosurgical, Plastics, ENT & General Surgical, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert lactation consultation and support to new mothers during their hospital stay.
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify breastfeeding challenges and develop individualized care plans.
- Offer education and guidance on breastfeeding techniques, positioning, and infant feeding cues.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care for mother-infant.
- Educate and empower nursing staff and other healthcare professionals on evidence-based breastfeeding practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of lactation consultations and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Certified Lactation Consultant
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in lactation consultation within a hospital setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Commitment to continuing education and staying updated on current practices in lactation support.
