ABOUT THE ROLE:
Exciting opportunity for a dynamic & enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Consultant to provide strategic oversight and lead the Infection Control team at Mercy Health. This key role reports to the Chief Nursing and Midwifery officer and is responsible for leading the infection, prevention and control program.
•Permanent full time position
•Based at Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg with a requirement to travel to other sites
•Provide organisational leadership, advocacy and oversight of the Infection Control Department across Mercy Health Services which will include;
•Developing, implementing and evaluating an effective organisation wide infection prevention and control program
•Ensuring that all Infection Control services, systems and processes are aligned and support Mercy’s strategic direction and intent
•Providing expert and timely advice on issues related to Infection Control and prevention
ABOUT YOU:
•Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia –(AHPRA)
•Post graduate qualification in Infection Control
•Relevant clinical experience and expertise in Infection Control
•Hand Hygiene Educator and Auditor _National Hand Hygiene Initiative
•Current Accredited Nurse Immuniser
•HIV and Hepatitis C Pre test counsellor
•Demonstrated experience engaging, communicating and managing relationships with a diversity of stakeholders
•Dedicated and focused on commitment to ongoing quality improvement activities to reduce healthcare associated infections
