Eligible Health Workers who move to Queensland from interstate and international jurisdictions to take up permanent employment may receive up to $20,000 (pro rate for part-time) in incentive payments under the Queensland Health Attraction Incentive Scheme
The opportunity The Opioid Substitute Treatment program works across the Townsville Men's Correctional Centre and Townsville Women's Correctional Centre. The program is an opiate addiction treatment program and harm minimisation program. All Registered and Clinical Nurses are responsible for the delivery of safe care to prisoners with an opiate addiction, this includes - schedule 8 medication delivery, clinical assessments, and addiction case management. Addiction or drug and alcohol experience will be advantageous.
The role will be underpinned by the Reducing Barriers to Health and Wellbeing: The Queensland Prison Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2020-2025 and will support efforts to:
Coordinate patient-centred care;
Create partnerships;
Improve patient outcomes;
Facilitate systems improvement
Prison Health Service is situated at the Townsville Correctional Centre and staff are subject to security and safety requirements of the Townsville Correctional Centre. The Townsville Hospital has a Memorandum of Understanding with the Queensland Corrective Services (General Manager of the Townsville Correctional Centre) and is represented by the Queensland Health Nurse Unit Manager onsite. Staff are to familiarise themselves with the orientation and induction to the facility incorporating Correctional Service safety induction requirements including Corrective Services criminal history check as well as Queensland Health.
Generous remuneration package value up to $128,435 p.a.comprising:
Salary rates between $4017.60 - $4302.00 p.f. and $52.86-$56.60 p.h. (NG6-1)
Annual leave loading + leave

Role requirement
Mandatory: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.
Queensland Corrective Services Criminal History Check: Applicants are advised that this position works in a Queensland Corrective Services facility and requires employees and volunteers to have a current Queensland Corrective Services criminal history clearance as per the Corrective Services Act 2006.
Highly Desirable: Tertiary qualification relevant to the position or working towards same, Primary Health Care and/or Prison Health experience.
Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which may include participation in an on-call roster.
On call: Appointees may be required to participate in an on-call roster.
Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
