Working closely with the joint Chief Investigators (CI’s), this position will assist in facilitating research and project activities working within the Trauma Service at Gold Coast University Hospital
The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse (Research Trauma) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Consolidate previous research skills and develop additional skills in complex and rapidly changing clinical areas
- Facilitate each phase of the project and develop project management/coordination skills
- Undertake implementation strategies, promote protocol integrity at site, collect and input study data, and undertake data audits
- Facilitate timely communication, effective consultation and ensure study outcomes and timelines are met
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary part time for up to 24 months
- Base salary ranging from $52.86 - $56.60 per hour
About Us
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual with an interest in trauma for the following study. Optimising the Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) Trauma Activation System: a mixed methods implementation and evaluation study. Previous research experience is desirable in addition to clinical experience/knowledge with/of the current trauma activation system at Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service. This role is funded from a research grant from the Gold Coast Collaborative Research Grant Scheme. This position will provide applicants with an opportunity to consolidate previous research skills and develop additional skills in complex and rapidly changing clinical areas.
