Fremantle Hospital (FH) is a 300-bed specialist hospital focused on providing high-quality aged care, mental health, secondary rehabilitation, planned surgeries and medical services.
We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Senior Registered Nurse for the position of Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS). In this role you will work across Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and Ward 4.2 at Fremantle Hopsital.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), in partnership with the W4.2 NUM, is responsible for the delivery of quality patient care within their speciality. The CNS supports the W4.2 NUM by supervising the delivery of quality patient care, through developing standards of practice, implementing changes to clinical practice, education of staff and initiating research and quality improvement activities. Coordinates the clinical activity for the Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Day Therapy Unit under the direction of the W4.2 NUM to ensure delivery of safe quality patient care supporting a clinical governance model of interdisciplinary service delivery. Responsible for operational management of the unit ensuring physical and workforce resources are available for the safe delivery of ECT and the Neuromodulation service.
The CNS is responsible for the provision of ECT expertise. As a senior nurse has professional accountability to the Nursing Coordinator and provides mentorship and role modelling for nurses and contributes to the advancement of the profession, in keeping with the vision and values of Fremantle Hospital (FH).
This is for a Permanent Full Time appointment.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve 12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
