The role:
As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality alcohol and other drug (AOD) services in accordance with Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies within the Alcohol and Drug Service (ADS).
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will deliver high-quality, contemporary and evidence based, alcohol and other drug treatment services in accordance with relevant Government Legislation and Regulations, Primary Health Care Principles, ADS policies, procedures and protocols and relevant professional competencies.
Duties:
- Provide a comprehensive assessment and treatment service for people and their families/carers with multiple and complex needs, including co-morbid alcohol and other drug and mental health issues, in accordance with discipline specific skills and abilities.
- Participates in the development and revision of organisational documentation and policies and procedures relating to nursing based best practice and the Detox@Home Model of Care.
- Consult and liaise with other agencies regarding the support and management of clients with alcohol and other drug needs and promotes community awareness in relation to alcohol and other drugs
- Undertake home visits as part of the assessment process and in providing home care/treatment.

- Be a part of this exciting new initiative as Clinical Nurse Specialist in the ADS Detox at Home Team
- Support people to safely detox from alcohol in their own homes.
- Be a part of a broader highly specialised and dynamic multi-disciplinary team.
Details of Appointment
Permanent full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $103,466 - $109,165 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
*Registration/licenses that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled, or has its conditions altered. - Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
