The Department of Health is seeking suitably qualified applicants for a Clinical Nurse Specialist - CAMHS (502814d) vacancy.
Please note this is also being advertised as Allied Health Professional (502814) and positions will be filled on merit.***Come join our team and put your skills, passion and knowledge to good use in making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people in the North West of Tasmania.The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a well-established mental health service in the North West region of Tasmania with a highly skilled and passionate team of clinician's, who are seeking Clinical Nurse Specialists to come and join our well supported and diverse team.We are seeking nurses with experience in assessment, case management, counselling and/or therapy, and within mental health or relevant/related sector would be ideal. You would be working within a multidisciplinary team to provide developmentally appropriate treatment with children, young people, and their families.Our Aim:CAMHS NW aims to provide timely access to evidence based, trauma informed treatment for children and young people (and their family/carers) who are struggling/experiencing difficulties with their mental health that is negatively impacting on them and their engagement in school, with peers and/or other aspects of their lives.Your Role and the CAMHS North West Team:

  • Be part of a dynamic and well supported team committed to delivering high quality mental health services to children, young people and their families/carers
  • Undertake clinical services through the provision of assessment, case management, and individual therapies, including the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs
  • Work with an amazing and diverse group of clinicians as part of the collaborative multidisciplinary team, including the provision of support and consultation to other team members as required
  • Supervision, peer support and ongoing professional learning are part of the culture of the CAMHS NW Community Team
  • Consult and liaise with the broader health system including GPs and other Agencies to optimise service effectiveness, efficiency and continuity of care.

Relocation support is available for successful candidates.Details of Appointment:Applicants should note three positions are available and will be filled based on merit.2x Permanent, full time, day worker positions working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.1x Permanent, part time, day worker position working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

Location:
Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services - North WestSalary: $103,466 - $109,165 per annum + 11% superannuation
  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
  • Multidisciplinary allowance may also apply
  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
Eligibility:Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
  • Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital based program that leads to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom
  • Current Working with Children Registration

  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Holds or is working towards tertiary qualifications in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Care
