What you'll be doing
The purpose of the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) position is to provide senior nursing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a nursing unit, team or service.
The CNS employs advanced clinical skills and exercises extended autonomy of decision making working closely with managers and other senior clinicians.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance professional development.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and initiating activities to improve clinical service delivery and patient clinical outcomes.
- Demonstrated skills in computer use and applications such as Windows, word processing and database.
- Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
