We currently have one (1) Permanent Full-Time position available.

Position Profile: We are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic candidate to the position of Clinical Nurse Specialist- Refugee Health. The successful applicant will be cognisant of all aspects of managing the clinical care of refugee children and their families new to Australia and have experience in working with culturally and linguistically diverse families. 

This role is responsible for the provision of direct clinical services to clients and establishing partnerships with key stakeholders to coordinate, implement and evaluate effective and efficient Refugee Health programs.

To be successful in this position you need to have:

  • Broad nursing experience including primary health care principals and social determinant of health.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of multi-disciplinary team.
  • Effective personal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed problem solving and negotiating skills.
  • Current knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements in the area of equal opportunity, disability services and Occupational Safety & health and how this will impact on employment, client management and service delivery.

About Community Health:
Community Health provides health and developmental assessments, early intervention and health promotion services for children and young people.

These services are provided in the community across the Perth metropolitan area at community health centres, in schools, home visits and through telehealth appointments. Services focus on child health, growth and development, behaviour immunisation and supporting families.

  1. Tell us about a situation you’ve encountered whilst working in community or Refugee Health where you’ve had to provide care for a family from a culturally diverse and linguistically diverse background? (related to essential criteria 2)
  2. Describe a specific refugee or health program you’ve planned, implemented, and evaluated? (related to essential criteria 3)
  3. Provide an outline of a recent educational program you developed and implemented for community or Refugee Health that also showcases your analytical and problem-solving abilities? (related to essential criteria 6 & 7)
  • A current resume which summarises your experience and contains phone & email contact details of 2 professional referees, with at least 1 being a recent supervisor/line manager.
