Job description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Optometrist to join our team. As a Clinical Optometrist, you will play a key role in providing excellent eye care to our patients. You will work closely with our team of Ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive eye care.

OKKO Eye Specialist Centre is an Ophthalmic practice with 2 locations in Brisbane (Auchenflower + Mt Gravatt). We are dedicated to providing the best possible eye health and vision outcomes and currently have a team of 4 Ophthalmologists with plans for this number to increase. About the role
The role will be split, 4 days at Auchenflower and 1 day at Mt Gravatt per week.
Co-manage and treat ocular conditions using therapeutic medications (e.g., eye drops, ointments) as appropriate.
Collaborate with Ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to develop personalised treatment plans for patients with complex or progressive eye conditions.
Collaborate with Ophthalmologists to provide post-operative care.
Educate patients on proper eye care practices, including the importance of eye hygiene, and lifestyle modifications for maintaining eye health.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including examination findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
Ability to perform various investigations such as Heidleberg OCT, Zeiss visual fields, IOL Master , iTrace, Optos and Pentacam etc.
About you
Master’s degree in Optometry (must be therapeutically endorsed).
Current registration as an Optometrist with APHRA.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
A team player, with a positive and proactive attitude.
Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Optometrist in an Ophthalmology setting is desirable but not essential, full training will be provided to the right candidate.
