Clinical Project Coordinator (Prison studies) – The Kirby Institute

  • Employment Type: Full-time (35 hour week)
  • Duration: 12 month fixed term contract
  • Remuneration: $96,960 - $103,434 + 17% Super and leave loading
  • Location: Kensington, NSW (Hybrid working, work from home and from UNSW Sydney campus). Some travel to study sites (prisons) may be required.
  • Full Australian working rights required for the duration of the contract

Why Your Role Matters:

As a Clinical Project Coordinator, you will be primarily responsible for supporting and assisting the research team in coordinating and implementing prison-based viral hepatitis research studies. You will also be responsible for stakeholder communications and management, the preparation and management of key project documents, ethics and governance applications, data management, as well as provide support for grant applications. You will use your experience in research project coordination to implement, monitor, and report on the conduct of prison-based viral hepatitis surveillance studies.

The role will sit across two programs, the Viral Hepatitis Clinical Research Program (VHCRP) and Viral Immunology Systems Program (VISP). The Clinical Project Coordinator reports to the Clinical Trials Manager in VHCRP, and will work closely with the Associate Professor VHCRP, the Senior Research Officer in VISP and the Head of VISP. This position has no direct reports.

Who You Are:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in research project coordination, particularly large multicentre cohorts or clinical trials, or equivalent level of related work experience, demonstrating analytical, problem solving, reporting skills, and ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated experience in development and amendment of research ethics and regulatory applications.
  • Sound stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in working with state or national public health or justice sectors. Experience working in the prison sector will be highly regarded.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with a proven ability in establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent computer skills with the Microsoft Office suite with a proven aptitude for learning new software packages.
