Position Summary
- Full-time, fixed term, Clinical Project Lead- Forensic Mental Health Recommissioning Project
Forensicare Prisons Directorate Office: 81/A Elgar Road, Derrimut - Will be required to travel to DJCS locations (including prisons and offices in Melbourne) and other Forensciare sites from time to time.
About the role:
Justice Health’s Mental Health Reform Team is leading the Forensic Mental Health Service Recommissioning Project over the next 18 months, with aims to deliver on:
- New Forensic Mental Health Quality Framework
- New contract between Forensicare and Justice Health
To achieve these deliverables for reform, Justice Health has engaged Forensicare to collaboratively co-design the recommission of Forensic Mental Health. Whilst Justice Health will oversee the Project governance, the Clinical Project Lead will collaborate with Justice Health to influence the key project deliverables. The project focuses on reform in the following areas:
- Cultural safety
- System oversight
- Continuous improvement
- System integration, and
- Collaboration.
This is an opportunity for Forensicare to meaningfully engage, advocate, and influence opportunities to:
- Strengthen and align our strategic partnership with Justice Health and the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS)
- Restructure Forensicare’s operating model for prison services and approach to funding structures
- Review and align service delivery principles against community equivalence, Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System (RCVMHS), and the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards; and
- Develop new outcome measures for consumers.
The Clinical Project Lead will lead the development of an updated Forensic Mental Health Model of Care that aligns with the new Forensic Mental Health Quality Framework. This will involve the Clinical Project Lead developing an implementation plan to operationalise the updated Model of Care. Justice Health aims to include the new Mental Health Quality Framework and updated Model of Care as building blocks for a renewed contract with Forensicare.
