Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is recruiting for a Specialist Physiotherapist to complement and enhance the current Neurosciences, Rehabilitation and Aged Care team.

What You'll be Doing
This Level 6 Clinical Specialist position is responsible for specialist physiotherapy clinical service provision in the area of Neurosciences, Rehabilitation or Aged Care. The Level 6 Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist takes a lead in planning and supporting clinical research, evidence based practice and quality improvement for the department and across SWSLHD. This includes taking a lead role in service development and evaluation, advanced reasoning and clinical practice skills in the management of clients of a novel or complex nature, as well as providing expert consultation and education across SWSLHD in the area of specialisation. This position is also responsible for the supervision, teaching and training of Physiotherapists, AHAs and students.

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is located in the city of Bankstown and is in one of the most multicultural local government areas (LGA) in Australia. This hospital has tertiary affiliations with three universities and offers a range of roles and experiences to employees.
The hospital receives highly diverse presentations in ED as well as having general medical and surgical services and sub-specialty services across the hospital. How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible. * Relevant post-graduate qualifications and/or demonstrated peer-recognition as a specialist through a track record of publications in peer journals and participation in teaching and training.

  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and ability to implement evidence based practice.
  • Demonstrated leadership in research, education and training including relevant experience in knowledge transfer and the translation of evidence into practice.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build sustainable partnerships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated experience in representing the profession at peak committees and/or in other relevant functions.
  • Extensive clinical specialty knowledge and experience including demonstrated advanced practice skills in Neurological, Rehabilitation or Aged Care Physiotherapy.
  • Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
