BCAL Diagnostics is a leading Australian biotechnology company developing a novel blood screening test to improve early detection of breast cancer in a way that is safe, cost effective, accurate and available to all women regardless of age, race and geography.
Essential qualifications & experience
- Phlebotomy certification
- A minimum of 1 year phlebotomy experience across a variety of patient populations
- Ability to interact professionally with a variety of stakeholders
- High level of initiative, flexibility, and the ability to meet deadlines while balancing multiple priorities
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high work standards with minimum supervision
- Strong computer literacy skills with MS Office suite
Highly regarded qualifications & abilities
- Prior experience as a Clinical Study Coordinator will be highly regarded
- Tertiary qualifications in clinical or life sciences related field
- Ability to work between the hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm
- First Aid certificate.
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice, international and national regulations, and standards for the conduct of research on human subjects (including the use of biospecimens and data)
Key activities/responsibilities
- Assisting with the identification and screening of individuals as possible participants in selective research studies.
- Preparation of participant materials
- Supporting the recruitment of potential participants under informed consent
- Assisting patient clinic visits (including scheduling patient follow-up visits)
- Collecting of blood from consenting participants
- Arranging for the transportation of blood to processing laboratory
- Data entry of study-related documents (such as patient logs, questionnaire and case report forms)
- Assisting with maintaining research records
- Phlebotomy equipment/consumables ordering and maintenance
- Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
