The Position

Classification: JC8
Salary per hour (exc. super): $51.76
Hours per fortnight: 16
Employment Status: Fixed term cover in parental leave

Role Description
The clinical Support Midwife is an intricate part of our multi-disciplinary team that provides Midwifery, Obstetric and Gynaecological care to women and children from across the Loddon Mallee region while supporting approximately 1900 births per year. The Clinical Support Midwife works with clinicians at the point of care enabling development of clinical skills to ensure safety and quality of care. They work collaboratively with Midwifery educators, Midwifery managers and key stakeholders to identify learning and development needs of Registered midwives, Graduate midwives and Post graduate midwifery students working in the clinical environment

The Team
The Women’s Ward and Birthing Suite is located on Level 3 of the new Bendigo Hospital. The team provides care to women and children from across the Loddon Mallee region and support approximately 1600 births per year. The unit has 6 Birthing Suites and 18 antenatal/postnatal beds. Midwives and the medical team collaborate during the patients stay to ensure they are given the best possible care. Our patients are supported by an on-call Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Paediatric and an Anaesthetic service.
