Clinical Trials Nurse
Located on the Gold Coast in the Pindara Specialist Suites, The Skin Centre is a full-service dermatology practice dedicated to providing personalised, professional and exceptional quality healthcare. The Skin Centre is home to Dr Andrew Freeman, the first Mohs Surgeon on the Gold Coast, Dr Michael Freeman, leader in the laser field, and Dr Matthew Warren, inflammatory dermatology expert. The Role:
Reporting to the Head of Clinical Trials (RN / Clinical Nurse Specialist Research Coordinator) and the Practice Manager, this role is ready for an immediate start, and intensive training will be provided.
An availability to work full-time hours (across 4 - 5 days) is preferred, but part-time hours will also be considered for the right applicant. We are looking for someone who has a passion for research and ideally strong interest in dermatology. You must have outstanding organisation skills, strong attention to detail, be able to work both autonomously and as part of a growing team.
Essential Skill Set:
- Currently a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Experience in a clinical research setting will be highly regarded.
- Have worked for a minimum of 10 years in a clinical nurse setting.
- Phlebotomy competency (preferred, not essential).
- Sound knowledge of Genie an advantage.
- Excellent computer literacy with experience in excel.
- Consistently provide high quality, clinical care to patients that is safe, evidence-based and in line with the practice’s policies and procedures.
- Strong communication skills, with the capacity to communicate effectively with doctors, admin staff, patients and other health care professionals.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise and organise workflow effectively.
- Ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to work autonomously, with direction.
Duties Include:
- Perform clinical duties, manage, and record adverse side effects according to the approved protocol.
- Administer medications as directed by The Head of Clinical Trials and the appropriate legislation.
- Be proficient in the collection of blood via cannula and venepuncture.
- Be proficient in checking vital signs and ECGs.
- Provide accurate documentation of results, adverse reactions and notes in line with direction from The Head of Clinical Nursing and company protocols.
- Provide general nursing care, monitor the response of patients and report to the Head of Clinical Trials, taking appropriate action when necessary.
