As the platform team's go-to for Cloud and DevOps Engineering, you will take responsibility for the following:
- Design and Implement: Establish resilient cloud infrastructure to underpin machine learning and data delivery operations, guaranteeing scalability and reliability.
- Optimise Resources: Ensure cloud resources are scalable and cost-effective
- Collaborate: build relationships with the machine learning engineers, with the common goal of containerising and scaling ML models across diverse environments.
- Automation: Deploy and oversee CI/CD pipelines designed to train and deploy machine learning models. Ensuring infrastructure provisioning and scaling are automated to handle increased loads.
- Security: Guarantee compliance with security best practices across infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
- Monitoring and Optimisation: Monitor the performance of systems, address issues and outages (occasionally outside regular hours), and optimise for enhanced scalability.
- Curiosity and Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with new technologies and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.
What you will bring to the role
- Demonstrated success in a comparable role, such as Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Deployment Engineer, or Platform/Production Engineer.
- Substantial experience in cloud architecture and deployments.
- Expertise in designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
- Hands-on technical proficiency with Amazon AWS, preferably holding an AWS certification.
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including CDK, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
- Strong familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools, such as GitHub or Jenkins.
- Proven achievements in a containerised and orchestrated environment, utilising Docker and Kubernetes.
- Any experience shipping Machine Learning models into production or collaboration with ML Engineers would be advantageous. However, a keen interest in working within the field will also be considered if you meet the abovementioned criteria.
