As Cluster Groups, Meetings, and Events (GM&E) Manager, you will manage the relevant teams to actively convert customer enquiries into confirmed sales. The Cluster GM&E Manager will interact frequently with customers and guests to learn about their needs and develop relationships which result in repeat and expanded business. Reporting to the Cluster Commercial Director, the Cluster GM&E Manager will work collaboratively and proactively to contribute to the development of business through groups, meetings, and Events.
- Maximise all Groups, Meetings, and Events revenue opportunities
- Review business plans, identify gaps, and ensure proactive efforts to fill capacity and meet set targets
- Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel, and manage the departments' adherence to achieving that strategy
- Understand the competitive market and implement approaches to ensure the hotel stays ahead in the local market
- Manage all GM&E business, under the direction of the Cluster Commercial Director and with the support of the GM&E teams
- Ensure GM&E Team Members are developed effectively and generate a culture of high-quality standards for relationship building, customer service, selling techniques, and billing/processing contracts
- Manage and develop GM&E Teams to ensure career progression and effective succession planning within the hotels
- Organise hotel promotional activities, conduct site tours, and attend networking events, as required
What are we seeking?
- Previous managerial experience (in a Reservations or Events Sales function in the hotel/leisure sector)
- Strong leadership skills (to effectively manage and motivate the teams to achieve high performance and exceed targets)
- Proven analytical skills (to understand key business indicators and competitive trends, as well as develop creative approaches to these challenges)
- Excellent selling capability (and an ability to coach techniques to the teams)
- Outstanding organisational and planning skills
- Accountable, flexible, and resilient
- Ability to work under pressure
