THE ORGANISATION:
Established in 1983, this is a leading contract manufacturing company specializing in component manufacture and using the latest advanced manufacturing methods including laser sintering, high-performance tooling and robotic welding. One of the key areas of the business supplies the medical sector with solutions for orthopaedic surgery and Patient Specific Instrumentation (PSI), changing lives for many people.
THE ROLE:
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced CNC Machinist to join this manufacturing team based in Ingleburn. Critical to the role will be your ability to demonstrate your previous experience working in an engineering workshop environment using both manual and CNC machines while working within an ISO quality management framework. Candidates must also be flexible to work overtime as required.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manufacture of components using information taken from engineering drawings and technical sources.
- Operation of CNC machines, specifically 5-axis style machines.
- Programming on various CNC controllers.
- Working well within a close-knit team and understanding the needs of the production environment.
- Performing duties safely and according to the company’s procedures and processes.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- You are a trade-qualified CNC Machinist with at least 5 years of experience within a workshop environment.
- Have an excellent mechanical aptitude and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Have the ability to work unsupervised and also be a team player.
- You must exhibit a high level of initiative together with a “can do” attitude.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- AutoCAD experience or Siemens NX experience (CAD/CAM).
- CNC software programming skills.
- EDM experience.
- 5-Axis simultaneous machining ability highly favourable.
