Valiant Space is a space propulsion company based in Brisbane, Australia. The company designs, manufactures, and tests thrusters, space solenoid valves, and full propulsion systems for small satellites. The company is continuing to grow and is onboarding new staff and increasing its product line.
This is an exciting time to become a part of Valiant and our journey! We are currently looking for numerous CNC Machinists to join our team for fast-paced, hands-on positions that will give you the chance to manufacture spaceflight hardware!
The ideal candidates will be responsible for the manufacture of a variety of components and sub-assemblies for Valiant Space's propulsion systems, including for flight hardware and ground testing equipment.
Responsibilities
- CNC programming / CAM for Lathe and Milling Machines
- Communicate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of parts
- Interpret drawings and CAD models and devise manufacturing processes and setups
- Assemble components and sub-assemblies
- Both prototyping and production machining
- Maintain manfuacturing equipment to a high standard
Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Trade qualified or demonstration of significant machining experience
- Proficient with Autodesk Fusion360 CAM, Mastercam, or similar
- Experience with both CNC milling machines and lathes
- Good understanding of fundamental engineering concepts and problem solving
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency with a wide range of tools and measurement equipment
Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- 3+ years of machining experience
- Prototype machining experience
- Experience with pressure vessel and/or pressure component manufacturing
- Experience with machining a variety of aerospace materials/alloys (Ti-6Al-4V, Inconel, etc.)
- Experience in aerospace or other precision manufacturing industry.
