An opportunity is now available for an experienced Collections Lead required to supervise the Collections team in Gippsland. This role will provide leadership, support and on-going training to the Pathology Collection team to ensure that the right people are placed in the right roles and supported to fulfill these roles.

Responsibilities:

  • Regular individual check ins with collection team and site visits to all ACC's, home visits and hospital ward rounds
  • Coach and support team to work towards shared organisational goals and strategy
  • Undertakes yearly performance reviews and regular professional development conversations
  • Celebrate and recognise positive customer feedback of the team
  • Address performance issues and negative customer feedback in a timeline manner, escalating to the area manager when needed
  • Collaborate with Onboarding Support Officer with collector vacancies for internal and external recruitment activities as needed
  • Coordinate the induction and onboarding of new staff with the support of onboarding support office
  • Coordinate identified training requirements for the collections team by ultilising current training materials, training school and Onboarding Support Officer support. Training needs to be conducted in timely manner
  • Undertake clinical competence for collection team as per National Collection Framework policy
  • Oversee injury/hazard incidents, escalating as required and supporting injury management and return to work activities
  • Provide Rostering Officers employee, ACC sites and shift updates/changes in the required format by the documented timeline
  • Working closely with the rostering officers to ensure proper implementation of quality systems and procedures at the collection centres; including WHS assessments, NATA assessments and assist non-conformance investigations
  • Support the Area Manager with managing budget for designated area and contribute to business and process improvements

Experience Required:

  • Certificate 3 or 4 in Pathology Collection
  • Drivers Licence
  • Minimum three years experience in pathology collections
  • Sound knowledge of pathology industry and Dorevitch Pathology services
  • Strong communication skills, ability to adapt communication style based on the needs of the audience
  • Identifies new or improved opportunities and processes to enhance organisational strategy
  • Exceptional persuasive and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate well.
