About the role
We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Organisation of shift allocations to ensure adequate rostering to the requirements of the region
- Assist with the recruitment and training of Pathology Specimen Collectors
- Ensure best practice service standards are met in all locations
- Collection of blood and other samples from patients
- Packaging and dispatching of specimens, including stock and equipment maintenance
- Co-ordination of customer appointments and request details
- Ensuring adherence to Occupational Health and Safety and Quality Policies
About you
To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
- Demonstrated experience in all facets of Phlebotomy and the ability to supervise staff
- Deliver training with positive outcomes
- Excellent communication skills and intermediate computer experience
- Strong customer focus and accuracy with attention to detail
- A current full (unrestricted) driver licence is required
- Demonstrated ability to understand and adhere to policies and procedures and convey this knowledge to both existing and new employees
Due to internal movements we are seeking a Collection Coordinator who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team in the South Region for a 12 month contract.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the operations of pathology collection including roster, payroll, training, and competency
- Organisation of shift allocations to ensure adequate rostering to the requirements of the region
- Provide strong and effective leadership to a highly engaged collection team
- Manage operational costs including labour and consumables
- Ensure WHS, quality and NATA compliance
- Manage and oversee all people matters in relation to recruitment, onboarding, induction, performance, retention and development
- Ensure best practice service standards are met in all locations –
- Stock and equipment maintenance
- Collection of blood and other samples from patients, as required -
- Packaging and dispatching of specimens
About You:
- Hold a Certificate III in Pathology Collection and HLTPAT005 Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing
- Demonstrated experience in all facets of Phlebotomy and the ability to supervise staff
- Strong people management skills
- Deliver training with positive outcomes
- Excellent communication skills and intermediate computer experience
- A high degree of discretion, confidentiality and professionalism
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong customer focus and accuracy with attention to detail
- A high rate of accuracy and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A current full (unrestricted) driver licence is required
- Demonstrated ability to understand and adhere to policies and procedures and convey this knowledge to both existing and new employees
- A good understanding of NATA requirements (ISO15189) and NPAAC guidelines
