Qualifications & experience
- Experience in collections roles in Australian Financial Services and demonstrated experience of Mortgage regulatory environment.
- Demonstrated leadership experience inclusive of performance management and coaching to improve performance.
- Experience with an Australian non–bank highly regarded.
- Highly organised with an emphasis on attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness.
- Excellent customer service orientation.
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Able to work independently and with a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to have a laugh.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Oversee the collections process, ensuring effective management of delinquent accounts across all stages of arrears.
- Drive performance in delinquency management, handling hardship loan accounts, and ensuring compliance with the National Consumer Credit Protection (NCCP) Act and ASIC Debt Collection Guidelines.
- Lead and develop a high-performing collections team. Set clear performance targets and provide ongoing training and support to team members to foster a positive and collaborative team culture, encouraging professional growth and development.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including the Treasury, Servicing and Client Services teams to align collections strategies and processes.
- Engage with external stakeholders such as regulatory bodies, industry associations, and third-party service providers to ensure best practice and compliance.
- Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics and progress against targets.
