Moneytech is a rapidly growing, non-bank commercial lending business with a national presence. Moneytech provides a range of working capital products – Debtor Finance, Trade Finance and Term loans, as well as Equipment Finance.
We are seeking a Collections officer to join us on this growth and change journey. This role will be based in Sydney and will report directly to the Collections Manager. You will join a team responsible for strategy, product and risk and help shape the future Moneytech products, process, and technology.
About you:
Preferably, you have experience with commercial lending in Australia, ideally in a non-bank environment. However, we are open to applicants who are eager to learn about non-bank commercial lending and have excellent negotiating skills. This role is a great opportunity to gain exposure to the wider finance function. You’re comfortable in the detail and realise that the more you understand something the better decisions you can make. You are outcome focused and care much more about the ‘what’ than the how, there are many solutions to the same problem. The ideal candidate must have great communication skills, strong negotiation skills, be detail-oriented, and enjoy problem solving.
Some of the responsibilities of the Collections Officer include the following:
- Regular review of delinquent portfolio and ensuring workflow is effectively managed to ensure collections processes are being adhered to in a timely manner.
- Negotiate suitable payment plans and settlements.
- Resolve external and internal client queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain client files to ensure reporting accuracy across the portfolio.
- Refer matters for enforcement in line with collections processes.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in non-bank commercial lending, or alternative substitute experience
- A methodical approach to problem solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to get things done, either autonomously or within a team, depending on the circumstances.
If you have outstanding interpersonal skills and are motivated, determined, detail oriented and ethical with a collaborative approach, we would love to hear from you.
