This is a permanent full-time position commencing in September 2024.

The minimum starting remuneration for this position (salary plus loading) is $103,090 per annum; increasing to a maximum of $113,220.

The Residential Colleges branch is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and committed College Manager for Geraldton Residential College.

About the role

The College Manager provides leadership and direction within the college to ensure the needs of stakeholders are met, and that operations are consistent with Department policies, procedures and guidelines. As College Manager, you are responsible for line management of the supervisory, administration and ancillary staff of the college.

2. Demonstrated effective organisational skills and the capacity to provide leadership.

3. Demonstrated sound written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a team environment.

Eligibility and Training Requirements

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
  • work according to rostered hours which may include nights, weekends and public holidays
  • obtain (prior to first rostered shift working with students) and maintain a current:
  • First Aid Certificate – Provide CPR (HLTAID001)
  • First Aid Certificate – Provide First Aid (HLTAID003)
  • within six months of commencement of employment obtain and maintain a current:
  • LR Class Driver’s Licence and a Passenger Transport Driver (PTD) authorisation
  • Aquatic Rescue for Group lll Pool Award *
  • Surf Rescue Certificate *
  • obtain a Certificate IV in Community Services – Student Residential Care (CHC42021) within six months of commencement of employment.

* Dependent on operational requirements as determined by Manager Residential Colleges.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
