About the role:
•Deliver face-to-face classes to our International Commercial Cookery students
•Academic training support to students
- Assessment marking and planning
- Meeting deadlines for delivery & management of courses
- Practical kitchen delivery
- Monitoring student attendance and progression
- Maintenance of assessments records for students
- Maintaining students’ satisfaction
- Facilitating access to educational support
- Provide effective feedback and advice.
- Work Placement
• Professional Development - PD learning activities to develop and maintain currency of personal and professional skills, knowledge, and attitudes for both industry and learning, teaching, and assessment.
- Industry networking and maintenance of currency.
- Maintaining an effective working relationship with employers and vocational placement organisations.
- Casual position for up to 5 days a week.
- Work at the Southport campus

The ideal candidate will be a person who thrives in a dynamic team environment and has extensive experience in the fast-paced education environment providing quality training and assessment services to multi-cultural groups of students.
Qualifications
Vocational competencies and relevant industry experience for the listed qualifications below:
- SIT30816/SIT30821 - Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- SIT40516/SIT40521 - Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/Certificate IV in Kitchen Management
Training and assessment experience in following:
- SIT30816/SIT30821 - Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- SIT40516/SIT40521 - Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/Certificate IV in Kitchen Management
Preferred at least 1-3 years of teaching experience
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or equivalent
Experience
- Relevant/Current Industry work experience post qualifications;
- Knowledge of the relevant Training Package;
- Demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development;
- Ability to use LMS as course delivery platform.
- Recent experience as a Trainer and Assessor

Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong PC skills - email, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation preparation and industry specific applications (preferred)

- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills, meeting KPIs, and building supportive relationships with students and colleagues.
The successful person will have:
- Energy, enthusiasm, and a dynamic approach to classroom performance
- Effective communication skills
- A solid understanding of training package requirements and the RTO Standards
- Experience in using Microsoft Teams and the aXcelerate learning management system (ideal – but we’ll train for this)
- Skills and experience using flexible teaching methodologies and the evaluation and assessment of student learning and progress.
- Proven experience working with diverse groups of students and colleagues (essential)
