The Commercial Finance Analyst (Reporting & Analytics) is responsible for supporting the Commercial Finance Business Partner in all aspects of business partnering across multiple Departments and supporting the timely reporting of key information to numerous levels of the business including Global HQ, internal Leadership and key budget holders. This role will have a focus on ensuring accuracy and data quality in planning, providing analytical decision support and improving business partnering primarily with Sales & Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Sales & Operations as a collaborative sparring partner to enhance forecasting and business planning.
- Offer decision support with insightful analysis and modelling, challenge assumptions, and evaluate profitability impacts.
- Develop an understanding of customer value chains and maintain knowledge of commercial terms and customer P&L for sales channels.
- Assist in the preparation of new product launch proposals, ensuring they are backed with solid inputs and profitability assessments.
- Act as the key user and champion of the CPM tool, ensuring high-quality data and process adherence.
- Lead training for new sales users on CPM, manage master pricing, SKU changes, and drive continuous improvement within the system.
- Coordinate planning and forecasting cycles, ensuring stakeholder commitment to deadlines and accurate submission of business plans.
- Perform variance analysis and month-end closing tasks in CPM and SAP, providing clear articulation of forecast changes and impacts.
- Prepare and distribute detailed monthly financial reports, and present variances and impacts to leadership teams for strategic guidance.
- Conduct regular Customer Health Checks for the Sales team, identifying and reporting any discrepancies in customer value chains.
Experience Required:
- Degree Qualified in Accounting, Finance or Business.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a Commercial Finance role, with previous experience using a Sales planning system desired but not essential.
- Experience in Data Analytics & Modelling.
- IT literate, excellent MS Excel knowledge, proficient in MS PowerPoint, familiar with any integrated business analytical tool is a strong plus (SAP/ BI/Hyperion etc.).
- The successful candidate will be an inquisitive self-starter with high attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Strong business partnering skills, able to demonstrate agility and professionalism with challenging commercial situations.
