Collaborating closely with the Head of Commercial Finance, your mandate is to spearhead strategic initiatives that enhance customer experience while optimizing fulfilment costs. You will work closely with a highly engaged business leadership team that values your input, recognizing the pivotal role finance plays in business decisions. With a strong emphasis on commercial strategy, this role also offers a significant opportunity to lead and innovate within the broader spectrum of Kmart's Commercial Finance landscape.The role will be based in Kmart's National Office in Mulgrave.What you'll be doingAs a Commercial Finance Manager working for Kmart Group, you will:
- Partner with the Online function to identify, develop, and implement action plans aimed at improving business performance whilst continuously lifting the commercial acumen of the team
- Understand key drivers of performance within the retail and e-commerce landscape, leveraging insights to inform decision-making processes.
- Play a key role in supporting critical business projects and tracking the implementation of initiatives, including conducting Post-Implementation Reviews (PIRs) to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of our strategies and processes
- Build strong relationships with the broader Finance and Online leadership teams and be confident in challenging and influencing outcomes as needed.
- Take ownership of a robust reporting suite ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare business cases and board reports, effectively communicating financial insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and issues within the retail sector, proactively identifying opportunities and challenges.
- Manage the calendar planning processes, ensuring alignment between the technology function, Kmart Group and Wesfarmers.
- A qualification in Finance - either CPA or CA qualified.
- A minimum of 7 years' experience working in a commercial role, with a focus on retail or e-commerce industries.
- Proven track record of driving results and delivering insights that contribute to business success.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modelling and forecasting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Demonstrated ability balancing strong commercial acumen and understanding of value drivers within a business with financial governance and pragmatism.
- Experience with ERP systems -SAP, TM1 exposure would be beneficial.
