About the Role:
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Commercial Manager will use their extensive experience and legal knowledge to provide advice, direction and strategy for commercial policy, procedures, legal and other requirements to support the enterprise.
This role will need to apply innovation, knowledge, legal principles and critical commercial risk and performance requirements not only to procurement and contract management but the enterprise-wide environment. This includes commercialization opportunities and proactively developing, implementing, and managing contractual obligations.
The Commercial Manager will use expert legal knowledge and critical thinking to provide fundamental support to the enterprise. With professional business acumen, the Commercial Manager will work together with internal stakeholders to monitor and implement processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, policies and regulations impacting the enterprise.
This role is offered on a Permanent, part time basis, hours are negotiable over the working week of Monday through to Friday.
The Commercial Manager will use their superior communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assist the identification of project and strategic issues, contributing innovative solutions that comply with the regulatory and legal requirements to achieve maximised economic outcomes.

Defence industry experience will be highly regarded, but candidates with other Commercial Management industry experience will also be considered.
Possessing some, or all, of the following experience/qualities will be advantageous for this position:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; legal qualifications will be highly regarded.
- 5+ years of Commercial Management experience.
- Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy.
- Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company goals.
- Commercial management of major contract and subcontracts across the business.
- Reviewing tender and contract documentation.
- Assist the Compliance Officer in conducting risk assessments and audits to identify compliance risks and recommend appropriate actions.
- Monitor changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards and ensure the organisation's compliance with them.
- Oversee contract management, including negotiation, compliance, and dispute resolution.
- Support the business in employment law, industrial relations, leasing, and development matters.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, as well as work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Provide general in-house legal advice relevant to the group’s business ventures.
- Superior adaptability, flexibility, and extensive coordination skills will be highly regarded.
