Recently, CGK Group has partnered with the global sustainable hospitality and tourism operator, Crystalbrook Collection, to manage a new luxury hotel in South Australia. This development, owned by Samaras Group, one of our brands, will be named Crystalbrook Sam. It will become the eighth hotel in Crystalbrook’s distinguished Australian portfolio. Situated at 15 Halifax Street in the heart of Adelaide CBD, the 200-key hotel’s construction is slated to begin at the end of 2024 and will be completed by 2026.

As the Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our diverse portfolio of businesses, ensuring legal compliance, and providing strategic advice. Join us and be part of a team that values excellence and innovation and contribute to our exciting journey of growth and development.
The Role:
As the Commercial Manager you will report into the Managing Director and be based in our Adelaide CBD head office. This is a permanent, full-time position with regular travel required to support key stakeholders with the commercial operations and objectives of our businesses in South Australia, Victoria, and New South Wales.
Day to day, you will be responsible for ensuring business matters are in line with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements. You will also provide a legal / commercial management role in the strategic operational delivery of national projects. You will liaise with key stakeholders, and assist on company matters and work on business-as-usual matters, including, but not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company goals.
- Commercial management of major contract and subcontracts across multiple business units.
- Reviewing tender and contract documentation for various business units.
- Identify and mitigate risks throughout project lifecycle.
- Oversee contract management, including negotiation, compliance, and dispute resolution.
- Support the business in employment law, industrial relations, leasing, and development matters.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, as well as work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Provide general in-house legal advice relevant to the group’s business ventures.
Key Qualifications and Qualities:
- Legal qualifications and or strong acumen in commercial law.
- Proven experience in managing construction contracts and subcontracts.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with clients and contractors.
- Strong understanding of risk management and legal compliance.
- Represent the company in a professional manner in line with business culture and procedures.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
The ideal candidate will have construction industry experience, or come with corporate M&A, commercial, and project experience. However, junior candidates with a strong commercial acumen seeking to gain broader industry experience will also be considered.
