Apex Energy Networks has an opportunity for a motivated and professional Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our Energy Solutions team based in Brisbane. It will be your role to open doors to small/medium business customers, who want to fairer deal on their Electricity price.
If you have BDM experience in electricity retailer or embedded network systems and understand the importance of cheaper power prices for small/medium size businesses, then this role could suit your skills. Electricity is a large monthly cost for most businesses, so with our business model we can consider solar generation, battery storage and energy management systems to deliver a cheaper and more efficiency energy price for our customers. This role is about meeting the electricity needs of small/medium size business customers, without the need to pressure sell, while getting well remunerated for achieving your objectives.
We are a part of a renewable energy group, that supplies electricity, solar, battery storage, heat pumps and electric vehicle chargers to the Australian market and have a compelling proposition to bundle energy for our commercial customers. They get cheaper power day one based on entering a fixed term supply agreements with our group.
If you are a BDM that can open doors without purchasing leads with small/medium business customers within a specified geographic market, then we should talk further about our sales model and commissions.
Each customer solution is tailored to the business needs, based on consumption, landlord terms & conditions and network charges to meet the needs of the customer, grid and our business, so that all parties achieve a win/win.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Establish strategic relationships and locate and develop new business opportunities, within agreed postcodes in Southeast Qld.
- Work with key staff to drive pipeline growth of small/medium business customers seeking better electricity supply prices, in exchange for fixed term agreements, designed to meet their specific usage patterns.
- Proactively analyse current market opportunities and manage your pipeline to focus on the best ROI clients as a priority
- Be very focused on the target customer and objective of the business unit, which means not getting distracted on larger/smaller opportunities outside of the geography or scope of the role
- Phone calls, site visits and business development activities will be expected in the specific postcodes to achieve weekly sales objectives
- Provide a 30/60/90 day business development plan, for weekly review with your manager to show activity and progress towards achieving the role KPI’s
- Collaboration is critical, as we are a small team and are looking for an achievement focused BDM that can work with our head office team and other salespeople to develop our Brands
A successful candidate will have:
- 5+ years’ experience in a customer facing sales position
- Knowledge of renewable energy solutions an advantage
- A high level of verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build rapport and develop strong working relationships
- (B2B) Business to Business sales experience
- Sound computer skills (Outlook, Excel, CRM etc)
- Ability to work in a “team” environment to deliver team outcomes
- Ability to form strong business relationships that translate into long term customer loyalty and repeat sales
