ABOUT THE ROLE

The Commercial Sales Lead is responsible for assisting with securing new partnership revenue by proactively identifying suitable brands and initiating conversations.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Growth & Innovation, this role will:

  • Proactively prospect, implement sales strategies, pitch and generate new business conversation opportunities
  • Research, analyse and understand the needs of prospective partners to identify and develop the best approach to conversion
  • Develop compelling sales proposals that lead to conversion using strategic data and insights.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of partnership opportunities across all club programs
  • Work with the finance team to ensure regular and timely reporting
  • Ensure up-to-date pipeline via Salesforce
  • Improve and maintain database integrity by ensuring key benchmarks are met

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for a team-focused, results-driven, creative thinker to join our dedicated, bold and innovative commercial team.

The successful candidate will also have:

  • At least 2 years of sponsorship or media sales experience
  • The ability to understand data and insights
  • Good business and financial acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to build rapport and relationships at a commercial level
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
  • A curious and inquisitive mindset

Our ideal candidate can work a wide array of hours with a varying time schedule to suit the seasonal priorities of the football industry. Some interstate travel may be required.

The successful candidate is required to undergo and pass a police check, and hold a current and valid Victorian Working with Children’s Check.
