We are looking for a Commercial Solar Project Engineer to keep up with the increased demand of our Solar business. We are looking for a driven and ambitious solar professional who wants to work in a truly collaborative environment. Our team will be challenging and assist you to achieve success and job satisfaction. We need to maintain high standards and ensure a very high quality of workmanship for all our installations. The successful applicant needs to be capable of liaising with our project manager, estimator and sales team to design the best system for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Create Approval Drawings, IFC Drawings and As-Built documentation for systems between 50kW – 2MW.
- Evaluation of interval data to suggest engineering solutions to reduce energy consumption.
- Calculating of energy output and technical analysis into proposed solution.
- Shading analysis for the Solar Systems.
- Preparing Grid Applications and liaising with DNSP for approval
- Preparing work orders and BOQs for the awarded projects.
- Coordinating with the Structural Engineers for design approval.
- Diagnosing & fixing Technical Issues
- Research new products and solutions to keep up with our industry
- Liaise with Suppliers, Installers for technical clarification
- Mentor junior engineers to fulfil their potential
- Support our project management and delivery team
- Set team KPI’s and spread workload between team members
- Site visits on request
- Be involved with supplier training & conferences
- Follow security procedures
Requirements
- AutoCAD, PVSyst, SketchUp, MS Excel
- Must have knowledge of interpreting architectural drawings, SLD’s, Electrical Layouts
- Strong Design Language.
- CEC accreditation
- Familiar with Australian Standards 3000, 4777, 5033
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Advanced Communication skills
- The ability to work in a Team environment
- Intermediate computer skills
- Team commitment & Self-driven
- Personal and professional presentation
