Rice Queen, Fitzroy's premier Pan-Asian fusion restaurant and cocktail bar are looking for our newest Commis Chefs to join our team, contributing to our already amazing dining experience dining experience. Main Role Responsibilities:
- Assist senior chefs with the day to day operations of the kitchen utilizing your skills & experience
- Use correct techniques and follow procedures and recipes when preparing and cooking menu items
- You will be responsible for your section and operate to optimum efficiency
Experience, Skills & Attributes:
- Demonstrated experience in a commercial kitchen
- Ability to effectively follow instructions and absorb new information
- Interest in local and global food trends
- Good communication and immaculate presentation
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships
- Team player and display a positive and nimble attitude
- Understanding of Food Safety and OH&S
- Foundation knife skills and understanding of basic cookery terms and techniques
- Focus on detail
- Outstanding time management during preparation and service periods
- Calm and composed demeanour
- Qualification in Commercial Cookery preferred but not necessary
- Experience with Pan-Asian cuisine preferred
