We are searching for an exceptional chef with suitable experience in similar high volume, fast paced kitchen environments. The Commonfolk Group is a well established coffee roaster, beverage manufacturer and hospitality group based in Mornington (1 hour south of Melbourne). We have venues in Mornington, Frankston and South Yarra.
We have been trading for over 10 years, and have developed a reputation as an industry leader on the Peninsula, Bayside and beyond. Our desire is to serve food that makes our customers return time and time again, food worth travelling out of your way to try, and food that has people genuinely saying “that was the best meal I've ever had”.
The right applicant will need to be able to demonstrate:
- A confident and creative cooking style with a strong emphasis on simple on-trend cafe cuisine
- A genuine obsession of cooking including unique and emerging trends and processes
- A broad understanding of the hospitality industry in Australia
- An ability to be strategic and collaborative to grow and expand our culinary program
- Strict adherence to cost and stock control
- Planning and organisational skills
- Meticulous adherence to food safety regulations
- Menu / recipe development, budgeting and implementation
- Ability to work closely with experienced, hands-on head of culinary
We pay our chefs annualised salaries above award rate dependant on their position / experience [commis, chef de partie, sous etc].
