Our Hotel
Located in a traditional heritage architecture building, once home to the Fairfax newspaper empire and the prestigious Bank of New South Wales, we offer an elegant stay in the heart of the CBD. Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel accommodates business travelers and leisure guests from all over the world. Our 5-star hotel is a short stroll from prestigious restaurants and bars, luxury shopping, and iconic sites such as the Sydney Opera House, the Queen Victoria Building, and Martin Place.
The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and passionate Full Time Commis Chef to join our friendly team. Our talented kitchen brigade covers all areas of food preparation and production for our various Food & Beverage outlets; Lady Fairfax Room, The Fax Bar, In-Room Dining, Business Class Lounge and Conference & Events.
Please note that this role requires the flexibility to work a rotating 7-day roster including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, public holidays and relieving occasional overnight shifts.
About You
You are a team player who is willing to work closely with a small team, maintain the hotel's high standards and ensure that the policies of the hotel and kitchen - including Work Health & Safety and Responsible Business practices - are adhered to at all times.
To be successful in this role you will require:
- The ability to demonstrate and deliver 5-Star service with a Yes I Can attitude
- A completed Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
- Previous experience in a similar environment will be viewed favourably
- Exceptional time management skills and being able to work well under pressure
- Knowledge of HACCP standards and procedures
- Knowledge of current food trends

Pay Rates
Our rates are as per the Hospitality Industry General Award. Please see current base rates below:
Monday - Friday $26.18 p/hr + superannuation
Saturday $32.73 p/hr + superannuation
Sunday $39.27 p/hr + superannuation
