Position Overview:
The Communications and Content Manager is responsible for ensuring that the LIV's key Communications and Content are disseminated consistently and strategically to enhance the value of membership of the LIV and the reputation of the LIV.
The Communications and Content Manager will also lead the communications team and manage the collation and distribution of the LIV’s daily LawNews, manage social media, member communications, corporate and staff communications. The role requires technological literacy, experience with website content and digital communications platforms, and exceptional writing and editing skills.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Understand the value and role of the LIV in the legal sector and work always toward enhancing that value and reputation with members, the legal profession, key stakeholders and the public
- Work across the organisation to identify opportunities to tell the LIV story and promote LIV initiatives through delivering innovative content – written word, video, podcasts
- Manage the collation and distribution of the daily LawNews (collated and distributed by the Communications Officer) to maintain benchmark opening rates
- Manage and execute the editing and distribution of member segment communications
- Contribute to developing and maintaining website information architecture to improve user flows and customer journeys
- Ensure that reporting on communications strategic initiatives, LawNews open rates, media and social media engagement and other relevant information is up to date and provided in a timely and accurate manner
To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:
- A bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Business, Law or other relevant degree
- 5+ years’ experience in journalism, PR, communications, editing and/or content development
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce accurate and consistent copy purposed for the intended audience, mistake free and in adherence to brand
- Experience with CMS and CRM platforms (iMIS desirable but not required), social media platforms and managing website content
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, (Adobe Suite with basic image editing skills and video production and editing platforms desirable)
- Understanding of the legal sector and of membership organisations desirable
