Role Purpose
Reporting to the General Manager Marketing and Communications, you will work in collaboration with peers in marketing, digital production and fundraising to lead and grow the people, strategy, systems and work within the Communications and Media functions to promote and defend our brand and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop an enterprise-wide Communications and Media strategy and a media engagement plan that will form part of the enterprise 2023-2027 Marketing and Communications strategic plan.
- Foster media relationships and support the primary media spokesperson and events where GSANZ engages with and through the media.
- Collaborate with the Brand and Marketing Manager to provide content support to the fundraising function during campaigns, appeals and event engagement.
- Maintain measurement and reporting systems and processes for the organisation across media and communications – collaborating with brand and marketing where this requires combined view of paid and earned or internal and external activity.
- Lead the communications function and people to create a high-performing team which is aligned to mission, strategy and communicates consistently across all media.
About you
- Qualification in communications or media (only experienced professional writers will be considered)
- Demonstrated career history of media and communications practice with evidence of developing and leading strategy and supervising or leading others in these crafts at a senior level
- Senior experience providing strategic and tactical advice for media – both reputational value (brand enhancement) and risk (crisis)
- Demonstrated expert thinking, writing, media and presentation skills to a level where you can transfer and lead others in the craft
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, develop, policies and strategies, and build/foster a high performing culture.
